Getting Involved

Bayfield parents and caregivers play a pivotal role in organising fundraising and community events for Bayfield School.  Bayfield relies on the time and support of parents and caregivers to aid in the organisation of events big and small and rely on people like yourself to get things done! We value any support our parents can provide, and encourage our parents to be involved in school activities.  So, how can you get involved? There are a number of ways.

Board of Trustees
Elections every 3 years (next election 2016)
The role of the board is to govern the school.  It is the employer of all staff.  The Board sets the strategy, allocates resources to that strategy; ensuring that its school provides a safe environment and a quality education for all its students.  Boards are also responsible for overseeing the management of personnel, curriculum, property, finance and administration.

Bayfield Community Group

Made up of one Class representative from each class (selected annually)The Bayfield Community Group is like the PTA, and is effectively a subcommittee of the Board of Trustees. It is the conduit between the Board, school and parents/caregivers. They disseminate information, raise issues, organise class get together's and help to coordinate a number of school events, such as:
  • Class get together
  • School disco
  • School picnic
  • Bayfield Wine
  • Cards and Calendars
  • Graduation
  • Grandparents Day
