Reporting to Parents
At Bayfield School, we believe in building strong partnerships with families through clear and timely communication about student learning. Our reporting approach includes a combination of face-to-face conversations and online updates throughout the year.
1. Learning Conferences
Held mid-year and at the end of the year, these conferences involve students, teachers, and parents. They are a valuable opportunity to celebrate progress, discuss learning goals, and set next steps together.
2. Written Reports via Hero
Twice a year, parents receive formal written reports through our school management system, Hero. These reports provide a clear picture of your child’s achievement and progress across the curriculum, including learning dispositions and next steps.
3. Ongoing Updates via Hero
Throughout the year, families receive regular updates in literacy and numeracy via Hero posts. These provide snapshots of learning, progress, and focus areas, helping families stay engaged in their child’s development in key curriculum areas.
4. PAT Reporting (Years 3–6)
Students in Years 3 to 6 sit Progressive Achievement Tests (PATs) in reading, mathematics, and listening. PAT results are shared with families and used alongside classroom data to inform teaching and track progress over time.
Our approach to reporting ensures parents have a clear, up-to-date understanding of their child’s learning journey and how they can support it at home.
