Health & Safety

It is important to have good systems in place to maintain a safe healthy environment.

Visitors

Visitors are required to sign in at the office before entering the school.

Dogs are not permitted on school grounds.

Drills

We practice fire/evacuation/lockdown drills during the year so that everyone knows how to respond in an emergency.

Duty Teachers

During morning tea and lunch breaks, teachers are rostered on duty around the school grounds. They wear fluro vests to make them easy to spot. The duty teachers cover a specific area and walk around the school supporting the children to make good choices in their play.

Road Safety

The crossing over Jervois Road is supervised before and after school by the road patrol team which consists of two trained year 6 students and an adult overseer.

We ask that parents/caregivers please do not block driveways, double park or park over yellow lines while transporting children to/from school.  Always be alert for the unexpected.

Medical

Staff have received first aid training.

Linda looks after the sick bay which is located next to the office.   If it is decided a child requires medical attention, the parents/caregivers are contacted.

Please keep your child at home if they are feeling unwell in the morning.

Allergies

Please let us know if your child has any allergies so that we can manage their risks appropriately. Students are instructed not to share their food to maximise the safety of those with severe allergies.
